Introduction

In 2014 the Higher Schools of Art of the Federation Wallonia-Brussels in Belgium united to create the non-profit organization A / R (Art - Recherche asbl).

They span multiple fields: plastic, visual and spatial arts, theater and speech arts, music, performing arts, and communication and broadcasting techniques. However all parties agree on the importance of developing a common interest: research in art.

A/R currently groups together 15 schools of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium:

  • The Royal Conservatory of Brussels,
  • The Royal Conservatory of Liège,
  • The National Higher School for Visual Arts La Cambre - Brussels,
  • Higher School for Image Arts le 75 - Brussels,
  • Higher School for Art Liège,
  • higher school for circus arts (ésac) - Brussels,
  • Higher School for Art Saint Luc - Liège,
  • erg - higher school for art - Brussels,
  • Institute for Broadcast Arts IAD - Louvain-La-Neuve,
  • National Higher Institute for the Performing Arts and Broadcasting - INSAS - Brussels,
  • Higher Institute of Music and Pedagogy IMEP - Namur.

An artistic committee of 6 leading figures from the local and international art scene was established to select which research projects will receive support from A / R.
