From 1991 to 1999, she served as editor-in-chief of the Dutch film & visual culture magazine, Skrien. She subsequently played a role in the development of the Dutch government’s film policy when she was Secretary of Film and Media Education at the Netherlands Council for Culture. During those years she also edited the BFI Cinema Book, edited the last publication of Johan van der Keuken (’Bewogen Beelden’) and wrote a monograph on Fons Rademakers (’Fons Rademakers - scenes uit leven en werk’) .
